About the Dāna Dreamers Logo
Denver-based Illustrative Designer, Allison Heistand-Phelps, donated her time to design the Dāna Dreamers logos. Allison’s inspiration for the logos is as follows:
“In crafting the Dāna Dreamers logos, I wanted to highlight the heart-opening, warm, passionate, and dream-centered nature of Dāna Dreamers, as well as the spiritual nature of the practice of dāna.
To emphasize the heart being opened and warmed, the logo includes a heart made of Thangka-style clouds with the sun emerging from behind. In many Thangkas, clouds are stylized with swirls; they symbolize the creative power of the mind in Tibetan Buddhism, with the power to rain down bliss and liberation with knowledge to the world below. Here the clouds form a heart, to symbolize the creative power of the mind and heart combined....awakening with the warmth of the sun.
The font is Begonia, a playful, handwritten-style serif, which communicates a feeling that Dāna Dreamers is a DIY, grassroots effort. To match this, the illustrated portion of this combination logo is done in permanent marker, rather than traditional thangka art materials.”

We are tremendously grateful to her for her donated time and beautiful rendering of the essence of the Dāna Dreamers program!
