Hatha with a Hoop | Sara Demorest
Sacred circle or child's toy? The hula hoop is both of these things (and more!) In this class, we will not be spinning and twirling our hoops. Instead, we will use hoops as an unconventional yoga prop. The hoop can serve as a force field or container during meditation, a tangible tool while combining breath with simple movement and a trusty assistant to enhance or help with physical yoga postures. Explore your yoga practice in a powerful new way using the hoop! No hula hooping experience required and hoops will be provided.
About the instructor:
Sara is a yoga teacher from Socorro, NM. She did her 200 hour certification with the Pranakriya School of Yoga in 2018 and then 300 hours of study with Kathryn Bruni-Young of Mindful Strength (as well as dozens of learning workshops with many teachers over the years.) After impulsively including hula hoops in a children’s yoga class, Sara fell into the world of hoop dance and has since worked to incorporate hoops into yoga for adults in workshops and special classes. Sara also teaches occasional hoop flow/fitness in her community along with her weekly schedule of traditional yoga classes.
